Peace activist Terence Nahimana is facing charges that could potentially see him jailed for up to 20 years. He is the director of the NGO Cercle d'initiative pour une vision commune (CIVIC), which works to promote peace and conflict resolution. Amnesty International considers him a prisoner of conscience, detained solely for the peaceful exercise of his right to freedom of expression.
