Diary Note: Amnesty International Secretary General visits New Delhi
Amnesty International's Secretary General Irene Khan will visit New Delhi between 15 and 17 February 2006.

Ms Khan will be in India to address the General Meeting of the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA) and to present the CBA--Amnesty International Award for Human Rights Programme. She will also meet Indian activists and government officials.

The visit coincides with a time of increased violence and repression in Nepal. It also coincides with the anniversary of Ms Khan leading a mission to the country, where she met King Gyanendra and visited Kathmandu and Nepalganj. Ms Khan is available for interview on this and other topics.
